Finally, after months of being teased by a few pieces of fabulous artwork and the promise of beer, all wrapped up in a glorious, character-filled old downtown building, the time has come: Angelina Brewing Company is now open!!
J and I found ourselves kidless and fancy-free one evening last week and could not wait to go and check it out. One word: Phenomenal! The vibe is laid back and fun. The decor is various old things found in the Lufkin area. The waitstaff (we had Joey), was outstanding! The beer was incredible. We ordered a few flights to sample and enjoyed them all! Some of our favorites were the Merry Hoppins IPA, Shenanigans which was a Belgian Tripel, and Crockett’s Revenge - a honey wheat ale. We ordered the cheese curds and the steak & fries. The steak was grilled to the requested perfection and served with this incredible sauce. I’m normally a purist when it comes to my steaks, but this was definitely an exception! Did I mention the beer?!! 😍
